Each week, The Mini Page covers a different topic. The Mini Page will teach your readers about that week's topic using word puzzles, connect the dots, recipes, drawings and pictures.
Appearing in over 500 newspapers weekly, The Mini Page is loved by children, parents, teachers, and anyone who wants to learn a little more while having a lot of fun.
The Mini Page was created by Betty Debnam (UNC Class of 1952). Ms. Debnam gave her complete archive from the years she was creator and editor to the UNC Library and the financial support necessary to create this electronic archive.
An online finding aid with details about the contents of The Mini Page Archive is available at the Southern Historical Website.
In 1987, at the request of Chief Justice Burger, the chairman of the Commission of the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution, Mini Page Editor Betty Debnam began a series about the Constitution. The award-winning series proved so popular that Mini Page readers have been ordering reprints of it ever since. As a natural follow-up to the Constitution series, The Mini Page Bill of Rights series appeared throughout 1991, its bicentennial year:
1. Mason and Madison: The Men Behind the Bill of Rights
2. The Rights of Women
3. The First Amendment
4. Freedom of Religion
5. Freedom of Speech
6. Assembly and Petition
7. The Rights of Blacks
8. The 14th Amendment
9. The Rights of Due Process
10. Children's Rights
11. The Supreme Court
12. An Interview with Chief Justice Burger
